Drive up I-75 to Atlanta and then keep going north on GA 400 to Dahlonega. From there, start going up hill. Somewhere between Woody Gap and Wolfpen Gap Chris Lacher's family has a rambling old place on 25 wooded acres. I got to spend a few days up there on two different occasions in 1995. The first time was in June with Chris and Kathy Lacher; Mark Purvis; Marv and Myriam Rubenstein; and Charlie and Patty McBride.
The place, pictured at the top, is actually called
BuckSnort.
It's conveniently located at mile 75 of the
imfamous "6 Gap" Century -
generally considered the
hardest century
east of the Mississippi.
I was
back up there for
the ride in October, 1995, with
Dave Anderson who
can be seen chatting with Charlie McBride
on the porch.
A few minutes later
John Flynn
was relaxing on the porch with Patty McBride,
Chris Lacher and Mark Purvis.
After the ride, I saw
John again and
Sharon Kelly and
KC Glymph.
in the parking lot.
Finally,
Randall Smith
shows what he thinks of the 6 mountain climbs
to Bert Voorting and Patty McBride.
